WELCOME TO THE YOGA MAT, where you will find the techniques and the support you need for creating a healthy lifestyle. Our classes are designed to take you from a beginning level of practice to the more advanced. As you progress you will, deepen your body awareness, practice safe alignment, explore your boundries, learn to modify the postures to your personal level. You'll explore the space between effort and relaxation in a yoga posture. You will come to know that yoga is more than physical postures. Yoga is a tool to create flexibility, strength, and balance in your body and in your life. The Yoga Mat is Green! Earth Day is more than a day or even a month. We have taken careful steps to providing an ecologically friendly and safe environment for your yoga practice. We use only environmentally friendly products in the studio. Our recycling program has been well received. The Yoga Mat no longer sells PVC mats and now has all natural rubber mats available. We sell and use only 100% soy candles. PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE INSTRUCTION For individuals, couples, or a small group of friends. YOGA THERAPY A yoga therapy session offers an opportunity to learn an alternative form of exercise for people who experience pain from an injury or disability. STRESS REDUCTION Mindfulness-Based Meditation and pranayama (breath control) train your body and mind to relax, not just during the exercises, but to transport that awareness into your active daily life, preventing tension from building up or accumulating. After a while the relaxed state becomes the norm and tension is the stranger that invades your life. PRIVATE GUIDED MEDITATION Stress reduction and relaxation through guided meditation providing a deep physical, spiritual and emotional release were needed. Creating the ultimate mind, body and spiritual connection. Learn how to create that relaxation under times of stress and tension through breath work. Addressing specific physical and or emotional issues in a private and safe setting personalized for individual needs.
