MOVIE NIGHT RETURNS IN THE FALL! 2nd YOGA for REAL MEN WORKSHOP COMING SOON! This one is for Men Only -- sorry
"girls"! Of course we love girls! Professional athletes and weekend
warriors are finding the benefits of a regular yoga practice. Many men are
still skeptical of yoga, believing it's a "girl" thing and miss out on the
amazing effects of this ancient health practice. While
increasing strength, yoga also stretches and lengthens muscles. Yoga can
improve ease and fluidity of movement in any sport or physical activity.
Equal emphasis on big core muscles and small stabilizer muscles means better
joint stability, overall balance and a sense of power and well-being. That
said, you don't need to be either flexible or macho to begin this class.
Mindful of the beginning student's needs it will be both challenging and fun at
the same time. This is a 2 hour class. $20, $15 for Members or 2 for $30!
INTRO TO ANUSARA STYLE WORKSHOP, TBA
Yoga for Scoliosis with Sandra Safadirazieli Scoliosis is confusing. It creates imbalances in the body that lead to pain an discomfort. Joins us as we learn more about the patterns of scoliosis and explore how to modify yoga postures for individual needs. The first part of the workshop will be an overview of the anatomy and physiology of scoliosis. We will then explore asana (physical postures) with an emphasis on four main elements: breath, length, derotation, an strength building. This will be an interactive class where we will learn from each other about our own habits and patterns. We will learn modifications that can be brought into other yoga classes as well specific practices to do at home. Sandra Safadirazieli is certified by Elise Miller as a Yoga fro Scoliosis Trainer, and is a graduate of the Advanced Studies Program at Piedmont Yoga

In his recent book A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, Eckhart Tolle takes us to another level of being, to that place that is always peaceful and happy, just beyond the mind. In six weeks we will share insights, ask questions and go deeper in knowing our purpose. In class we will start with Chapter Eight. Read as much as you can before the class; underline what speaks to you, and share it with your fellow travelers as we dis-cover our true Self.
